Chord shuffle
The chord shuffle is one of the oldest tricks in the blues guitaristıs book, and it sounds great as a hramonica rhythm part too. The only problem is that it really only works for one single chord on a cross-harp harmonica. There are two solutions to this: either you intersperse it with something else (solo riffs or other kinds of backing) or you simply use one harmonica for each chord in the tune. Here are three different variants - the first one is straight triads throughout:
The second one is similar, but uses 7th chords (like a guitarist is most likely to do)
The third introduces some nice syncopations.
The first two work well in any tempo, no. 3 is most suitable for relatively fast tunes. |
