The Blues Harmonica

The instrument is often called blues harmonica or even blues harp, and you'll get a lot of blues here.
  But not only blues! After all, that music wasn't even invented way back when Richter got the idea to switch around some of the lower notes on a ten hole harmonica. The "blues" harmonica was - and still is - a popular instrument in pop music, rock, country, folk and even classical music.

This site is a spin-off from my main web site, Musica Viva. Musica Viva is a free sheet music site, that among other things includes a big collection of free harmonica sheet music. It also kept filling up with other harmonica-related content, and eventually I decided to open a site specifically for the harmonica. This is it!

At the moment (17th July 2004) the status for the various channels are:

1. History: Half-finished article.
2. Instrument: Nothing there yet.
3. Masters: Nothing there yet.
4. Music: Content still located at Musica Viva and may remain there. I still haven't decided if I'm going to move it here or not.
5. School:
   • First three chapters of Blues Harp 101 finished
   • Key and positions table included in the handbook.
   • The first few lessons added to the lessons collection. More will come soon I hope.
6. Mainteneance: Nothing there yet. I'm still not sure whether I need a special mainteneance channel. The content I'm planning to have there might just as well be included in the Instruments channel.
7. Buyer's guide: Instrument buyer's guide completed. Equipment buyers guides coming up.
8. Family: Nothing there yet.
9. Forum: Nothing there yet.
10. Web: Adding new links whenever I come across sites I want to recommend.
